STEAM Workshops

Below are some of the Workshops that we offer.  If you have a lecture or hands on workshop that you are interest in, contact us and we may be able to accommodate you.

It’s never too early to start learning

At Vocational STEAM Works we feel it's better to start sooner than later.  We have programs that will work with your child's K-6 grade elementary after school programs. Prepping them for Middle & High School competitive STEAM Teams.

  • Adhesives:  This workshop looks into the deferent types of adhesive, how they work and their compatibility with materials.

  • Plastic Welding:  Although welding is more of a technology or vocational art, we cover it along with the adhesives workshop to discuss the affects of this cohesive bond.

  • 3D Printer Set-Up:  The most important part to creating a successful 3D printed part is the set-up process.  This workshop will cover machine calibration, bed prep, speed settings and part aids.

  • 3D Slicing:   Slicing helps in the creation of strong light weight parts. It can also be the deference between a 40 hours or 8 hours process for the same part.  This workshop will be working with Cura, Prusa, Simplify3D and the new Fusion 360 slicer to help users decide on what will work best for them.

  • Fusion 360:  Fusion is a parametric design program.  This work shop is an introduction to designing 3D printed parts.

  • TARC Team Equations: Math is fun when it serves a purpose for your needs. Vocation STEAM Work will work with teams on formulas to help with things like Coefficient of Drag, Impulse using Newton Second, and conversion such as acceleration into g-force.

  • TARC Rocket Design 2021:  This Workshop is for the introduction of the upcoming 2021-22 "Team America Rocket Challenge".  It will cover the rules, requirements and regulations that are needed to be competitive.
  • TARC Tricks and Tips :  This workshop is full of little things that will give your team more contestant altitudes and flight durations.
